Working principle of canopy signal light
1、 Signal light controller
The working principle of canopy signal lights is basically the same as that of ordinary traffic signal lights, both requiring a signal light controller to control their operation. The signal light controller usually consists of a motherboard, controller, clock, power supply, and memory.
2、 Types of signal lights
Rainshed signal lights can be divided into two categories based on their different functions: pedestrian signal lights and vehicle signal lights.
1. Pedestrian signal lights
Pedestrian signal lights are specially designed for pedestrians to cross the road. They usually flash alternately in green and red colors to indicate when pedestrians can cross the road and stay on the sidewalk.
2. Vehicle signal lights
Vehicle signal lights are signal lights used to indicate the driving status of vehicles. They usually have three colors: red, yellow, and green, representing the states of stopping, slowing down, and passing. Vehicle signal lights can be intelligently controlled according to different traffic flows and times to maximize intersection capacity.
3、 Working mode of signal lights
There are two main ways in which canopy signal lights work, namely fixed time control and on-site induction control.
1. Fixed time control
Fixed time control is a process of setting a fixed cycle time based on traffic flow and time. Signal lights are displayed alternately at fixed time intervals during the cycle, such as red lights on for 30 seconds, yellow lights on for 3 seconds, green lights on for 30 seconds, etc. This control method is suitable for road sections with relatively stable traffic flow.
2. On site induction control
On site sensing control is the use of on-site equipment to sense traffic flow and pedestrian passage, dynamically adjusting the display mode of signal lights. This control method is suitable for road sections with large or rapidly changing traffic flow, and can intelligently control the working mode of signal lights according to real-time situations, reducing the possibility of congestion and accidents.
