Radar speed measurement mainly utilizes the principle of Doppler Effect: when the target approaches the radar antenna, the reflected signal frequency will be higher than the transmitter frequency; On the contrary, when the target moves away from the antenna, the reflected signal frequency will be lower than the transmitter frequency. In this way, the relative velocity between the target and the radar can be calculated by changing the frequency value (when the target is flying towards the radar, the Doppler frequency is positive, and when the target is flying away from the radar, the Doppler frequency is negative). It is now widely used in industries such as police speed testing.
